Pinnacle Sports announced a partnership with the Danish organization North in 2019 for a term of 1.5 years. However, North has stopped operating since 2021 because of several reasons. Among the top reasons, the COVID-19 pandemic stopped most gaming activity for more than a year, and investors started to hold on to money. As a result, a lack of investment has caused the firm to halt its operations, and most Esports fans hope the halt is only temporary. Before the current partnership, the Danish organization North was sponsored by GG. Bet, which ended in 2019. Another prior sponsor for North was Adidas, but the organization chose to replace them as well. Some of North’s other current official sponsors and partners include SteelSeries, Shark Gaming, and corporate giants Capgemini. North’s prominent competing members consisted of players from Denmark and Sweden.

North announced a partnership with Pinnacle Sports, which makes Pinnacle the new sponsors of North. Based on the partnership agreement signed between North and Pinnacle, Pinnacle holds the right to work with North on releasing premium content. Pinnacle Sports will also sponsor North and, in turn, receive advertising through jersey sponsorship during tournaments and events. The total years of the contract are one and a half years and were signed in July 2019. The partnership announces Pinnacle’s foray into Esports sponsorships as an investor. Esports betting is a fast-growing market, and Pinnacle Sports was one of the earliest Esports gaming and betting providers giving punters the option to bet on classic titles such as FIFA, Fortnite, CS: GO, League of Legends, Defence of the Ancients, etc. The partnership with North helped Pinnacle tap into the Esports betting market, particularly the Counter-Strike gaming fanbase.
